Indie-folk storytelling with classical roots, shaped in Montréal, sharpened in Nashville.

Hey guys! There’s no way I’m going to write about myself in the third person; it makes me feel like some kind of lunatic. I’ve loved Elliott Smith’s music since I was 12, when a short-short wearing Lacanian introduced me to him Belle and Sebastian.

Initially, I taught myself to play guitar by listening to Smith, Nick Drake, and early Bob Dylan albums.

Afterward, I studied classical guitar at the McGill Conservatory in Montréal, Canada as well as at Berklee, and became a big fan of Peruvian composer Agustín Barrios Mangoré and subsequently the classical-indie-folk fusionism of Sun Kil Moon.

These days, I’m raising a family between Montréal and Nashville. I own a record label called Baste Records in Nashville, and have partnered with the incredibly talented songwriter and producer, Chris Wallin. Together we have released music from Rachel Holt, Chad Prather, Afroman, Five Times August, Hi-Rez, and others. We’ve also even had features by John Rich and Darryl Worley.
